August 2026

Dear Milford Wildcats and Caregivers,

All of us at Milford Central Schools welcome you to the 2026-2027 school year!  Our first day of the new year begins on Tuesday, September 8th.  From your first wide-eyed kindergarten days to the moment that you receive your diploma, and every point in between, education is your right.  It is also your responsibility.  We expect that this year will be better than ever as you embark on your journey in preparation for a life of your choosing.  A thorough understanding of the student handbook will help you make the most of your educational experience. This handbook was prepared to help you understand your privileges and responsibilities. Please read it with care. Share and discuss it with your parents or caregivers. Refer to it when you need to. If you have any questions that are not answered in this handbook, feel free to ask.

A specific emphasis will be placed on personal devices in school.  Last year, and briefly the year before, we have been adhering to NYS law regarding bell-to-bell restrictions on all devices which can connect to the internet.  From meetings with students and staff, we will continue with this policy and make sure that students are keeping their devices secured in lockers, off, and out-of sight for the entire day.  For a little over an entire school year, our students have been very good about following this rule, resulting in few incidents.  Again, we will be vigilant to minimize distractions throughout the school day due to personal devices so that everyone is able to learn in a distraction free environment.

I would also like to take a moment to welcome our new Spanish Teacher, Ms. Kiara Tobias-Arias, and Teacher’s Aide, Mrs. Danielle Greiner, to our team.

There are so many people in this school who will help you.  Our entire school community is here to assist you in any way that we can.  Our entire staff fully embraces Milford Central Schools’ vision of being “a district where all children are welcome and valued in an environment where they can learn and grow as critical thinkers and global citizens.”  We come to school every day to live this vision.   I have learned that this is truly a special place.  I look forward to what this year has to offer.  Please let me know if there’s anything that I can do, please contact me or stop by my office.

GO WILDCATS!
